As a creative agency, it was important that HammerAlbrecht’s website represented their projects more than themselves, whilst still presenting strong elements of their own brand. They envisioned big buttons with a variety of formats to represent the diverse genres of their projects and designs. We quickly realised that we needed to make something out of the ordinary, from top to bottom. Something that would be playful but structured, exciting but easy-to-navigate, all at the same time.

My main focus points for the project were the layout, the animations that would interact with the project filter, and the full-screen menu. Given the importance of the animations, and the difficulty of creating precise animations, the project involved a lot of prototyping – especially for the morphing forms I developed with the programmers. In fact, HammerAlbrecht’s website features some of the most complicated animations I’ve worked on.

As always, it was a blast working together with Huangart, and for a client who was open to a completely new form of web design. Clearly it paid off – just check it out and you’ll see why!
